The thing is, they still go straight after you with all 4 forces each consisting of 6 (7?) armies, they just might get distracted by other factions on the way if you're lucky. I disabled them in my LM campaign, in my HE campaign they started coming at me turn 60-something after confederating all of Ulthuan. The Chaos invasion start when you control a certain amount of settlements. Try to pay off the Dwarfes so you get on their good side, if you can, unless you have nowhere else to expand to If you go to war with the Dwarfes, you're probably going to have a very hard time or might outright lose the campaign now. Max out the LM heroes as soon as possible and add them to your army, they all get very strong mounts without having to tech for high tier units first You need to expand more aggressively early game, Kroq-Gar never returned to the starting province after turn 7 or so and I was constantly attacking settlements whenever I could. I control almost everything South of it, aside from a few settlements that my allies hold - I'm allied with all the "good" factions by forcing them into alliances and spending a lot of money on them each turn. I'm sure this will be fun, time to start a war!Īlso, when will Chaos show up? They could provide a good distraction if they keep the Dwarfs busy in the north.Ĭlick to shrink.in my Last Defenders game, I was in Sylvania by turn 110 (VC and Greenskin allied and wiped out the Dwarfs). At least pretty much all of my army has armour piercing and Kroq-Gar has Lightning Strike, if they decide to gang up on me. I have two stacks, I was about to build up a third, but without the dwarfs and their trade deal I can't afford that. I don't even see Thorgrim or Ungrim, so there are at least two more.

The Dwarfs are the number one faction right now, with at least five full stacks. I guess the only option now is to declare war on them.

Even if I could cross their lands, I have no idea were to go and I don't want the Dwarfs turning on me while I'm on the other side of the world, with no armies left to defend my cities. But now I'm surrounded by Dwarfs and we're not good enough friends for them to allow me military access.

No big deal at first, we became good buddies after I fought all the Skaven and Vampires and I even got a pretty good trade deal with them going. In the same time, the Dwarfs have wiped out the Greenskins and have apparently taken over the entire southern part of the map, as far as I can see. I'm at turn ~150 and have conquered the surrounding provinces up to Lahmia. The starting position in the very corner of the map was easy to defend at first, but now it has become a trap. Over the holidays I decided to start my first Mortal Empires campaign with the Last Defenders. You'll quickly come to hate siege battles, they're one if not the worst part of the game, imo

In a manual siege battle, line up your troops in such a way that only one or two towers can fire on your units while you advance towards the wall When you have monsters in your army, you can start the battle immediately, otherwise you'll have to build a battering ram first. Sieging the conventional way takes extremely long and unnecessarily ties up your lord and army. It's not absolutely necessary to own an entire province, it mainly provides stability in form of public order (because of the higher number of available building slots), gives you more gold, and you get to issue commandmentsĪbout sieges, I brute force every siege with manual or auto battles, it's not very difficult once you get the hang of it. You will have to take the minor settlement either by conquest or confedaration. And there's the Amazons and Vampire Coast, but they are both just a tiny part of the Warhammer world with maybe a small handful of unique units Dogs of War/mercenaries could work well in game 2. I'm still pretty hopeful that we get Araby as a faction. There's not much to work with left from here. The new faction? The Tomb Kings/Khemri were officially announced a few days ago (see post #2), you mean the ones after that? I'd say a Chaos rework, Ogre Kingdoms and Chaos Dwarfs are a lock for game 3.
